Theresa Q. Nguyen, O.D.

Dr. Nguyen is originally from Albuquerque, NM where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors from the University of New Mexico. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Houston College of Optometry and received multiple Letters of Excellence for clinical performance and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Nguyen completed her post-doctoral residency at the New Mexico VA Medical Center, where she specialized in ocular disease including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eyes, macular degeneration, and diabetes. There, she was involved in glaucoma clinical research and her contribution is used today in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma by fellow eye doctors.

Following her residency, she served as the first clinical director and Optometrist at a refractive surgical center in Albuquerque, NM. There, she gained extensive knowledge on vision correction surgery (LASIK, PRK/ASA) with expertise in the screening, evaluation, and management of vision correction surgery.

In 2019, Dr. Nguyen joined Dell Laser Consultants. She is honored to be part of a team who’s on the forefront of new technology and advances in vision care and surgery. She is devoted to providing thorough, expert, and compassionate care with every patient encounter. Dr. Nguyen is also an educator, providing continuing education seminars to fellow colleagues and currently actively takes part in educating and mentoring optometric residents.   Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Central Texas Optometry Society and American Optometric Association. When not serving her patients, she enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle and exploring Austin with her husband and daughters.
