Every summer the American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery® (AECOS) convenes in beautiful Deer Valley, Utah. In this gorgeous setting the organization’s members discuss the latest techniques, technology, and medical findings in the field of vision care. Our experienced ophthalmologist, Dr. Steven J. Dell, was honored to chair this prestigious event, helping to make the conference both educational and entertaining for the attendants. In his role, Dr. Dell was a part of the AECOS American Executive Committee, which included a range of responsibilities designed to make the convention a successful experience for all.
The symposium was held at the St. Regis Hotel, and AECOS members were invited to attend lectures, peer-to-peer sessions, and panel-led discussions held over the course of four days. Some of the events included presentations by Google and TrueVision®, the latter of which hosted a 3D Afternoon at the Movies special surgical presentation. Other subjects covered during the conference included micro-invasive glaucoma surgery, dry-eye management, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Dell is committed to remaining abreast of the latest techniques and technologies in ophthalmology, as well as assisting his peers in developing advanced skills in laser vision correction. He stated that chairing the AECOS annual summer summit was a wonderful opportunity to train, exchange ideas, and strengthen bonds with other leading ophthalmologists from around the world.
